For schools

Parents have questions about your school. Let's help them find the answers.

Schools Within Reach is building an independent directory of Texas private schools. Families will use it to compare real costs, admissions requirements, learning support, and availability. We would like your help getting the details right.

Review your school's information and ask about participation. Any paid options will have clear terms before you commit.

The calls your admissions office takes every week

  • "What's the total with fees?"
  • "Do you accept the state award? Does it cover everything?"
  • "Do you have room in fourth grade?"
  • "Do you have support for dyslexia?"
  • "Is there an entrance test? When's the deadline?"

Parents who already know these answers arrive prepared. Parents who can't find them often never call.

Why participate

Fewer repeat questions. Better-prepared families. Facts you control.

1

Be found by the right families

Parents will search by ZIP code, grade, budget after funding, faith, learning support, and more. A complete profile means you appear for the families you actually serve, and not for the ones you can't.

2

Set the record straight

Tuition, fees, and policies may be scattered across websites or out of date. On our profiles, you confirm the facts and we date-stamp them. If something changes, tell us and we update it.

3

Spend less time repeating yourself

When the common questions are answered up front, your first conversation with a family can start with fit instead of fees. The phone still rings, but the calls are better.

We're not going to promise you enrollment numbers or "qualified leads." We don't have the data to back that up yet, and you've heard it from everyone else. What we can offer is accurate information in front of parents who are actively looking.

What appears on a profile

The facts a family needs before they call.

Each item is labeled with its source and the date it was confirmed. If we don't know something, the profile says "Unknown" rather than guessing.

  • Grades served, location, school type, and religious affiliation if any
  • Tuition by grade and all required fees
  • Typical additional costs families should expect
  • Participation in the state funding program, and whether the award is accepted as full payment
  • Learning support offered, with any limits or additional fees
  • Admissions requirements and deadlines
  • Open seats by grade, with the date confirmed
  • Your preferred contact for admissions inquiries

What it costs

There is no charge to send an inquiry during this beta. Listing packages, profile services, and sponsored visibility may be offered as the directory develops. Prices and terms have not been set; we will explain them before you choose any paid option. Sponsored features will be identified, and factual claims will be reviewed against their sources.

What we'll ask of you

About twenty minutes to start: review the draft profile we've assembled from public information, correct anything that's off, confirm open seats and deadlines, and name a contact. After that, a short check-in each season. We do the research. You do the confirming.

How participation works

  • Sources and dates alongside published information
  • A review process for updates and corrections
  • Clear terms for listing services and any paid features
  • Identified sponsored placement
  • Admissions and support arrangements confirmed with the school
Who runs this

Independent information. More informed parent choices.

Schools Within Reach is focused on Texas families. We believe parents should have meaningful education choices and clear information about their options. We are independent of the Comptroller, the Texas Education Freedom Accounts program, and individual schools.

The directory is in development. Schools can help by reviewing profile information and supplying current details. We will explain participation options as they become available and identify paid features and sponsored visibility.

Questions from schools

Reasonable things to ask before you reply

We're already listed on other directories. Why another one?

Some directories have thousands of listings. We focus on details that help a family make a real decision. Ours lists schools in a defined area, confirms the facts that decide whether a family can realistically enroll, and dates every fact. The difference shows up in the quality of the families who contact you, and in the number who don't call because they got the answer they needed.

Will our profile say we accept students with learning differences?

It will say what you tell us you offer, labeled as such, with any limits and fees you specify. Profiles never state or imply that a school guarantees admission or services to any student. Admissions decisions are yours.

What if a fact on our profile is wrong?

Email us with the information that needs updating and a supporting source. We review the request, resolve any conflicting information, and update the published fact and its date as appropriate.

Will parents' contact information be sent to us?

Planned inquiry and introduction features will identify the recipient and obtain the parent's permission to share the relevant details. Parents on our early access list have signed up for updates from Schools Within Reach; that signup does not authorize contact from schools or providers.

Do you take a position on the state funding program?

We support parents having meaningful education choices. We report documented TEFA participation and explain costs and requirements so families can make their own decisions. Official eligibility, awards, and program rules come from the state.
